The visa fee is SGD 40 and an additional SGD 30 is charged for those who require a single entry visa to travel to Singapore so that they may do the medicals and get their student pass. Applications must be submitted through the Student's Pass On-Line Application and Registration ( SOLAR ) which is accessible through the website. It takes about three weeks for the visa approval to come through. During the July/August peak period it may take a little longer. An in-principle approval IPA letter is issued with a double leaf visa stamped page and is sent to you by your college. You can then travel to Singapore within 30 days of issue of this visa and will have to undergo a basic medical examination at a designated hospital, like Raffles Hospital, where they will conduct an ECG, Chest X-ray and a blood test for HIV. The report is ready the same afternoon and you present it to the ICA the next morning.
